About Us

FCNWC Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Q - May I visit a Club activity before deciding to join?

A – As a prospective new member we encourage you join us at any of our luncheons for a no obligation preview visit. You will be given an information packet and an orientation by our New Member Relations coordinator. Meet some of our members, ask questions, have a good time, and hopefully make some new friends.

Email newcomersclubofforsyth@gmail.com   to request information about our upcoming luncheons and activities. It is never too soon to start making new friends and having more fun!

  1. Q – How little or how much do I need to participate in Club activities in order to be a member?

A - All members who have paid their annual dues get to choose as few or as many luncheons, interest group activities, and events that they wish to attend in any month.

  1. Q - Are all of the interest groups open to new members joining the club?

A – All interest groups are always open to new members and current members wanting to try something new.

  1. Q – How long can I be a member of the Club?

A - As long as you wish.  Membership is renewed each year.

  1. Q – I work full time. Will there be enough activities for me to enjoy?

A - Yes. We have weekend events such as dinner groups that meet in the homes of our members, as well as restaurants, boating groups, wine tastings, etc. Also, all Club-wide socials are held on weekends as well as the monthly Friday Night Chill.

  1. Q – I am single. Will I fit in?

A – Yes. Our interest groups are all open to singles/couples and we have an active single women’s group called SWAT. (Single Women Are Terrific)

  1. Q – Do interest groups change?

A - Yes, the Board is always open and looking for new ideas from its members. We have an Interest Group Leader to help start new groups when ideas are presented.

  1. Q – Can I bring guests to Club activities?

A – Yes. Our luncheons welcome new women every month. A special, New Member Breakfast is held in August.  A guest can attend one Club activity without being a member, so invite your friends to come and to get to know us.

  1. Q – Can I invite friends who are not new to Forsyth County?

A – Yes. We are a social club open to all women in our community. We place an emphasis on welcoming new residents, but all women are eligible to join.

  1. Q – Does the Club change leadership?

A – Yes. Once a year nominations are held and a new Board is elected to lead the group.

  1.  Q – How does your Community Service work?

A – Community Service is one of the interest groups in our club. (CSI – Community Service Investigators.) They meet to plan projects and to decide which areas of community service they would like to support. They strive to provide service and support to those charities that do not already have a “voice” in the community. They present some of their projects to receive help club-wide, such as food drives, etc. Others projects are run just by the group itself.

  1. Q – I was a former member. Now I have more time and opportunity to enjoy the Club. May I rejoin?

A – Yes. We are open to all women who are interested in being a part of the Club.

  1. Q - I own my own business. Am I allowed to promote my business throughout the Club?

A – Our Club is a Women’s social club with a “No Solicitation” policy in place to protect our members. We do not allow individuals to promote their business at any Club functions, and our membership roster is protected by a Privacy Clause. If you would like to advertise your business, you are welcome to become one of our corporate sponsors by purchasing an ad space in our monthly newsletter or on our Club website for an additional fee.
